SADDLE ROAD PRESS, located in Hilo, Hawaii, will be publishing my cross-genre book, THE GATELESS GATE – Polishing the Moon Sword.
The book is comprised of 48 poetic responses to the 48 koans of the traditional Mumonkan, or "Gateless Gate" collections of Zen koans – my contribution to a long history of such responses. In addition, Polishing the Moon Sword includes 34 prose poems reflecting traditional Japanese folk tales, in their own right each a kind of koan.
They selected several authors whose work mixes memoir with prose and poems to be published in 2018. Here's the announcement, and if you click on my name you'll also be taken to a brief author bio:
